Stuckton Congregational Church was at the centre of the community for over 150 years, and during its life drew congregations of greater than 100. You can see from the burial information there were a number of families that transcended the years and generations, and often formed a key part of the backbone of the church.
Through this page we are trying to bring together pictures and information about the people of the church, and where possible their memories. If you have any contributions we would hugely appreciate you sending them to us via the contact page.
Outings
We have collected a number of images from scrapbooks, including of outings that members of the church congregation went on over the years.
The picture directly below is labeled ‘Sunday School outing to Bournemouth’ and the two bottom pictures labeled ‘Stuckton Church Outing Group 1958’.
The man with the dog in the bottom righthand image is William G Gosney with Prince; William was the church secretary for 30 years, and his wife Victoria is behind his left shoulder.

Sunday School
Pictures of the Sunday school, the first is in the school room at the back of the chapel, with Rev. Derek Anderson at the back dating it to the first half of the 60’s. The second is outside the front gate of the chapel – but so far undated.

Carnival Float – 1995
Whilst undated – we believe this the church’s float for the 1995 Fordingbridge Carnival.

The People of Stuckton Congregational Church
We have collected pictures of many people that were members of the church over its life, we would love to get more and add them to the site. We ultimately aim to link records in the burial database where the photographs include individuals buried in the chapelyard..
